The country was named Aotearoa, meaning The Land of the Long White Cloud by the first Maori settlers. The total land area is a little less than that of Italy or Japan, and a little more than the United Kingdom. New Zealand is surrounded by 15,000 km of coastline.

Karen Morley's fascination with the way deer velvet is able to regenerate year upon year has led to a successful New Zealand natural products company.

Confident that deer velvet could bring her father some relief from his crippling condition, Karen began reading, researching and talking with experts worldwide. With a number of deer velvet products already on the market, she aimed to produce a premium quality product, whilst ensuring strict adherence to animal welfare. “I spent two years researching this product and constantly set the bar high to achieve quality standards.”

Mountain Red was launched in 2002 and has been thriving ever since with more quality products and services now added to the Mountain Red Brand.

“I don't want to forget that this was about trying to make someone better,” Karen says. ““When I look at my dad now, I wholeheartedly believe this is what I was meant to do.”
